Bipartisan Budget Bill Works its Way Through Congress
A bipartisan budget bill is making its way through Capitol Hill after House Speaker Nancy Pelosi struck up a deal with President Trump.
The bill would fund the government for the next two years. And it would also raise the nation’s debt ceiling to allow borrowing through July 2021.
In a joint statement Monday, Pelosi and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer said the agreement will enhance national security and invest in middle-class priorities.
Pelosi says the house will move quickly to bring the package up for a vote before the end of the week.
The Senate is expected to follow.
