Consumers Energy Offering Free Pizza to Those Without Power

The weekend storm knocked out power for thousands across the area.

Right now many are still in the dark.

Most of the people without power are in central Michigan.

More than 800 homes and businesses in Osceola County are without power.

In Mecosta County, a little over 900 are without power.

And 1,400 people in Montcalm County are still in the dark from this weekend’s storm.

All of those without power in Osceola, Mecosta and Montcalm counties are Consumers Energy customers.

Osceola County was one of the hardest hit areas in the state.

To help those that may not have a way to cook their family’s lunch or dinner, Consumers is offering free pizza to families affected.

Consumers Energy is offering free pizza at Pompeii Pizza in Evart and Reed City from 2 to 10 Monday.

The violent storms left more than 219,000 of Consumers customers without power across the state this weekend.

Pompeii Pizza says they’re glad to help out the community.

“They help us every day. That’s how we live is by seeing the same people, week after week and if we can be the middle man and help in this situation, we’re glad to,” said Josh Mortensen, owner of Pompeii Pizza in Reed City.
