89th Annual Venetian Festival Takes Over Downtown Charlevoix

The city of Charlevoix is busy with a lot of fun this week.

The 89th annual Venetian Festival is going on downtown through Saturday.

More than 300 volunteers come together each year to make the event happen.

There are concerts, carnival rides and fireworks.

Organizers say it’s a reunion for those who are from Charlevoix.

It’s a big week for area businesses too.

“I think the economic impact of the festival is pretty undeniable with how many people are filling our hotels and our shops and our restaurants, it’s definitely an important impact to town and I think it’s an exciting time,” said Sarah Hagen, President of Charlevoix Chamber of Commerce
