Grand Traverse Pavilions Receives Blue Cross Blue Shield Grant

Grand Traverse Pavilions received a $50,000 grant from Blue Cross and Blue Shield Friday morning.

The grant will be used to help finish bringing the PACE program to Traverse City.

PACE is the program for all-inclusive care for the elderly.

The money will be used to help train PACE staff.

PACE is an alternative to long term care for seniors that the pavilions hopes will be a big benefit for northern Michigan.

“This is the first rural program that will be introduced into northern Michigan and it will be serving 7 counties from Antrim to Wexford to Manistee to Kalkaska and this will be the PACE center where individuals come as an alternative to long term care facilities,” said Deb Allen, Chief Development and Community Engagement Officer.

PACE hopes to be open and fully operational sometime in the fall.
