Cadillac Festival of the Arts Announces Winner of 37th Mayor’s Art Award

The 37th Mayor’s Art Award was just awarded at this year’s Cadillac Festival of the Arts.

The winner gets $450 and the artwork then becomes city property to be put on display in city hall.

This year’s mayor’s award goes to Barbie Felsk.

The Art Award Ceremony is just one of the events at this weekend’s Festival of the Arts in Cadillac.

The main attraction is the Phyllis E. Olson Art Fair at the City Park and pavilion.

That goes on all day Saturday.

Every year, the festival attracts artists from all over Northern Michigan.

“I just love seeing all the different art. The different kinds, the different mediums, the different…whatever it is that they did. I do think that anybody and everybody should come down and check out what all these artists have to offer,” said City of Cadillac Event Coordinator, Juanita Avila.

After the art fair closes at 7 p.m. Friday, live music starts.

Saturday includes another day of the art fair, along with a kids parade and street chalk art.
