U.S. Prepares to send 500 Troops to Saudi Arabia

The Trump administration is preparing to send hundreds of U.S. troops to Saudi Arabia.

Defense officials say 500 troops are expected to go to the Prince Sultan Air Base, located in a desert area east of the Saudi capital of Riyadh.

However, Congress has not been formally notified of the deployment.

The U.S. has wanted to place more troops at Prince Sultan Air Base for some time because of concerns about Iran.

Last month, the Trump administration said it would be sending 1,000 additional troops to the Middle East.

But it did not specify which countries they were going to.
