Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians Gets $2M to Build Manufacturing Plant

The Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians is getting $2 million to help build a manufacturing and warehouse plant.

The Soo tribe will own the 20,000 square foot center and help existing tribal manufacturers and entrepreneurs while helping bring in new industries and business opportunities.

The federal money is going to be matched by $350,000 in local funding.

The money is coming from a federal department that helps economically distressed communities that are trying to create jobs, and boost their economy.
