El Chapo Sentenced to Life in Prison
Mexican drug kingpin El Chapo will spend the rest of his life in a U.S. prison.
El Chapo, whose real name is Joaquin Guzman, was convicted in February in a historic drug trafficking case.
The drug lord was brought to the U.S. to stand trial after breaking out of prisons in Mexico twice.
El Chapo says he was denied a fair trial, claiming the judge failed to thoroughly investigate claims of juror misconduct in the trial.
El Chapo was the head of the Sinaloa cartel.
They were responsible for multiple murders and smuggling mountains of cocaine and other drugs into the U.S.
