Crews say someone did not report a car going into a Kalkaska County lake and now there’s oil contamination.
Coldsprings-Excelsior Fire and Rescue says it happened at the Crawford Lake public boat launch sometime Monday night, but say it was not reported until Wednesday.
The fire station says the car is out, but oil is now contaminating the boat launch area.
Crews are cleaning it up but it could take several days to finish.
The launch is now barricaded.
Authorities ask you to avoid the area until it’s cleaned up.
