Sault Ste. Marie Firefighters Put Out House Fire Within Minutes

A quick response from the Sault Ste. Marie Fire Department saved a house from being destroyed by fire Monday.

The call came in just after noon when a passerby saw smoked billowing out the windows at a home on East 4th Avenue.

When firefighters arrived, there were flames in the front part of the house.

The fire was put out within minutes.

Luckily, nobody was home at the time of the fire.

The fire chief tells us the owner was just going to put the house on the market today.

He said the fire is not suspicious, but it remains under investigation.
