Hundreds Enjoy Chippewa River Water Festival on Mt. Pleasant’s Island Park

What more could one ask for this summer than a free, fun family-friendly music festival in Northern Michigan?

People enjoyed the 3rd Annual Chippewa River Water Festival in Mt. Pleasant on Saturday.

The event was held on Island Park.

This festival was free to the public, providing activities kids, a chance to hear many local musicians and even the opportunity to listen to local storytellers.

Many groups came together to sponsored the event, bringing people and musicians together.

All this while learning how to celebrate the Chippewa River.

Watershed Outreach Coordinator Taylor Brook expressed what made the event special

“Just the community aspect. Everybody’s down here, excited about the river and ready to learn.”

In the past, the Chippewa River water festival has seen more than 500 people attend.
