Sable Points Lighthouse Keepers Association Offering Bus Rides to Big Sable Lighthouse Thursday

What usually is a nearly 2 mile hike to the Big Sable Lighthouse in Ludington, was just a bus ride today.

The lighthouse at the Ludington State Park is extremely popular with locals and tourists.

Getting to the lighthouse though takes some work.

But not Thursday, or bus day.

People bought a ticket and hopped on.

The Sable Points Lighthouse Keepers Association says it’s a great way for everyone to be able to experience the secluded treasure.

“Those that like I said can’t hike out there, people with small children, we have many volunteers that have volunteered in the past and can no longer get out there so they appreciate to come and get on a bus to head out to Big Sable,” said Rachel Bendele of the Sable Points Lighthouse Keepers Association.

These events are entirely volunteer run and the next bus tour to the Big Sable Lighthouse will be July 27th.
