Rudyard Church Donates Land for New Assisted Living, Hospice House

An empty lot in Chippewa County will become something so much more, thanks to a local church.

The Rudyard Presbyterian Church donated the property to Superior Health Support Systems.

They plan to build the White-Wiles Assisted Living and Hospice House.

It’s on the corner of M-48 and Mackinac Trail in Rudyard.

This past April the Wiles family donated $250,000 towards the project.

Since then, various donors contributed another $215,000 towards the total cost of $600,000.

Ground breaking is expected this fall.

“This is something that we feel is really important, because at this time of a person’s life, they need to stay connected with their communities.  And so for us to be able to build these homes in the outlying rural areas is really important so they don’t have to drive back and forth every day to visit,” said Tracey Holt, executive director.
