Cadillac Curry House Hosts 24 Hour Rocking Chair Marathon for Charity

Rock stars in Cadillac teamed up Thursday night to raise money for a good cause.

They’re not the guitar-playing, leather-pants wearing type of rock star, although these stars will be rocking out all night long.

The Curry House Assisted Living and Memory Center in Cadillac is hosting a Rock Around the Clock rocking chair 24 hour marathon.

It’s all in an effort to raise money for the local Meals on Wheels program.

The rocking started Thursday at 5 and will continue through the night, into the morning, and ending at 5 p.m. Friday.

Curry House started the tradition last summer as a fun way to get their residents involved in the charity effort.

“You know, the residents get involved and they come out here and they rock,” said Nina Fields, of the Curry House. “They just really feel like they’re participating and they just enjoy it. It gives them a purpose.”

People will be rocking every hour of the day until Friday at 5.

You’re invited to get in on the rocking or to stop by and donate.

The Curry House is located at 5858 S. 47 road in Cadillac.
