Missaukee County EMS Receives Gold Plus Award

Missaukee County EMS received the American Heart Association’s Mission Lifeline EMS Gold Plus Award.

They received the award for implementing quality improvement measures for patients who experience severe heart attacks.

Time on scene and how long it takes to get a patient to a hospital with cath labs are all factors in awarding EMS services with a gold, silver or bronze recognition.

“I think it’s a great plus. Our paramedics do a great job, our staff does a great job and it’s a plus for the patient, of course, getting to the cath lab is a priority. It’s a good thing for the patient, good thing for our staff. It shows how much dedication our staff has,” said EMS Director, Alan Devereaux.

Missaukee County is the only Northern Michigan EMS service to receive the gold recognition.
