Nation Wide Protests Demand Closure of Immigration Detention Facilities

More than 150 protests across the nation are all demanding the closure of what is believed to be inhumane detention centers housing tens of thousands of migrants, including children.

This comes after congressional Democrats toured detention centers along the Texas-Mexico border.

They reported cells without running water, families being separated and sick children in quarantine.

It was also discovered that the facilities are extremely overcrowded.

Investigators found that many minors are being held for more than two weeks, far longer than the allowed 72 hours.

In the meantime, Congress has announced they will hold an emergency hearing to directly address the findings.
