Missing Newborn Found in Isabella County, Mother Awaits Arraignment Wednesday

We have more details surrounding a missing newborn being found in Mount Pleasant.

State police set out an alert for a missing 12 day old infant Tuesday.

Believing the child to be with two people, Ilah Mankel, the mother, and Linda Mankel, the grandmother, without permission.

Troopers believed the pair to have taken the baby to the Mount Pleasant area.

Police near Lansing caught up with Ilah and Linda Mankel during a traffic stop but without the child.

The mother admitted the baby was at a home in Isabella County where troopers found the infant in good health.

Ilah is charged with parental kidnapping.

Linda was arrested for driving with a suspended license and an unrelated drug charge.

Ilah is set to be arraigned in Grand Rapids Wednesday.
