Former Gov. Rick Snyder Turns Down Harvard Fellowship Over Social Media Backlash

Former Governor Rick Snyder is turning down a fellowship at Harvard University.

The fellowship was announced earlier this week but Snyder says he’s not following through because of the social media backlash to the move over his administration’s role in the flint water crisis.

He tweeted that the role would have been “too disruptive” because of the “current political environment and lack of civility.”
