What’s Growing With Tom: Garden Update

We are back in the garden, but I just wish we’ve had a lot more heat this spring.

Most of our plants are doing O.K., but with little heat the tomatoes, peppers and green beans don’t show a ton of growth.  Even one of the tomato plants got ripped up and was left to rot.

Of course, the cold weather plants are in great shape. Broccoli, cauliflower and lettuce are growing beautifully!

The heat is here for now and the plants are going grow quicker!

But even with the heat, there is concern for fungus. You may not see it but it could be developing, so it’s best to put down a preventive to keep it from being a problem.

Justin with recommends using TerrraNeem EC. It’s a fungicide, insecticide and just gives your plants a lot of things to help them grow. Justin says it’s like a vitamin for the plant!

We want to make sure the plant has a strong immunity if something breaks out this summer. All you have to do is mix it, shake it and then spray it on the plants.

Key thing is not do this in the heat of the day. Do it in the morning or evening hours. It’s a simple project to protect your plants for problems down the road.

Next week, we’ll be back talking about the popular trends in gardening.
