Growers Express Recalls Packaged Vegetables Over Listeria Concerns
Some packaged vegetables are being recalled due to possible contamination with listeria.
The FDA says butternut squash, cauliflower, zucchini and vegetable bowls from Green Giant, Trader Joe’s and Signature Farms could have the bacteria.
Most were distributed to stores on the East Coast but two Trader Joe’s products, butternut squash spirals and zucchini spirals, were distributed in Michigan.
Listeria causes unpleasant food poisoning symptoms, but can be deadly to children and the elderly.
It can also cause pregnant women to miscarry.
No frozen or canned vegetables have been recalled, and Growers Express says it is sanitizing its factory and equipment.
