National Cherry Festival’s Old Town Classic Car Show Draws Thousands of People

Union Street was a sea of cars this morning for another National Cherry Festival event.

Thousands of people walked through the Old Town Classic Car Show.

The event featured more than 200 cars, ranging in age from the 1800s to the 2000s.

Many local cars were on display, but some people drove up from as far as Florida.

Everyone who came through even got to vote for their favorite car.

One man says he grew up going to car shows and brings his family every year.

“There is a lot of local cars here and always just a great venue to come down and spend some time and chit chat with our neighbors. It’s always great to get out and see some of the older cars. It brings back some memories hanging out with my dad,” says Brandon Flynn, who lives in Traverse City.

The National Cherry Festival says the winners will be posted online next week.
