Cadillac Area Community Foundation Celebrates 30 years, Donates $30k to Local Charities

The Cadillac Area Community Foundation turns 30 this month, and the nonprofit celebrated by awarding $30,000 to local charities.

They made the surprise donations at a celebration at the Cadillac Commons Market on Wednesday night.

Cadillac OASIS Family Resource Center, Healing Private Wounds and After 26 Depot Cafe all won $10,000 each.

The Cadillac Area Community Foundation awards youth scholarships and connects people and supports local organizations.

They also helped fund the new Cadillac Commons Market place and they were the first to hold a formal celebration in it on Wednesday.

“They played such an important role in bringing this to fruition it’s perfect that it happens here,” said Cadillac mayor Carla Filkins.  “Making a better future for Cadillac is what they’re all about and it’s bringing people together for all the right reasons and creating the future.”

The foundation has given away more than $6 million this year.
