Michigan Supreme Court Reviewing Case Allowing State Funds to Go to Private Schools

The Michigan Supreme Court is looking at a case that gave an OK for state tax dollars to flow to private schools.

Last October an appeals court decided private schools can get public money to help comply with health, safety and welfare rules.

Tuesday, the State Supreme Court will take up that ruling, hoping to resolve the issue with a final decision.

Critics say the state constitution states that no public money can aid a private school.

Back in 2016, lawmakers approved $2.5 million for state requirements at private school.
