Former CMU Student Government President Takes Plea Deal for Sexual Assault Charges

A former Central Michigan University student government president took a plea deal on sexual assault charges.

Ian Elliott was accused of sexually assaulting a fellow student in August of 2016 and another in 2014.

He has pleaded no contest to one count of criminal sexual misconduct third degree.

This means he does not admit guilt, but does accept the punishment.

Elliot will now spend at least one year in prison and will have to register as a sex offender.

His sentencing is scheduled for August 2.
