Clare County Road Commission Engineer Manager Resigns Following Investigation

An update following the investigation into the Clare County Road Commission Engineer Manager was provided Wednesday morning.

He has now agreed to resign from his position and signed a severance agreement Wednesday.

Deepak Gupta will be paid more than $58,000 for signing this.

It comes after several employees filed complaints against him for creating a hostile work environment.

Road commission board members took the complaints and followed the harassment policy that led to the investigation.

Employees say they appreciate the support they have received from the board.

“The Clare County Road Commission doesn’t tolerate any hostile behavior. We have a good group of people that work. We want a cohesive, peaceful environment for our employees,” said Karen Hulliberger, a Clare County Road Commissioner.

The road commission says they will hold a workshop with the board and some employees to determine how they fill this open position.
