Pride Flags Flying on State Office Buildings in Lansing for First Time

For the first time in Michigan’s history, pride flags are flying on state office buildings in Lansing.

On Sunday, Governor Gretchen Whitmer ordered that two iconic rainbow flags will fly on the George W. Romney building.

June is pride month in Michigan.

Governor Whitmer says celebrating pride month helps ensure that members of Michigan’s LGBTQ community are treated with respect.

Traverse City and many other communities are holding week long events to help spread this message.
