Drummond Island Couple Visits Sault Ste. Marie to Showcase “Huron Jewel”
A Drummond Island couple visited Sault Ste. Marie Saturday to allow curious folks the chance to see their prized possession.
Hugh and Julie Covert docked at George Kemp Marina with their handmade schooner named Huron Jewel.
The Coverts built the schooner back in 2015 and they christened the 78-foot long boat last summer.
People from all over came to check it out Saturday.
If there is a message to take away from the visit, it is that you should never give up on your dreams.
“I hope that us building this dream boat inspires others that they can follow their dreams regardless of how big the dream seems,” said Julie Covert.
The boat is available to rent out for special events or to just take a sail. You may reserve it here.
