MTM On The Road: Michigan Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Rogers City

The is remembering those who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving in the Vietnam War.

The Michigan Vietnam Veterans Memorial will be at the annex building Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

It holds more than 2,600 names of those who died while serving from Michigan.

Including the American soldier from Presque Isle County considered to be the last man to die in the Vietnam War. His name joins the other nine men from the area.

Friday, June 14 is also Flag Day. It honors the adoption of the United States flag that happened on June 14, 1777.

There will be a parade on Saturday June 15 at 11 a.m. throughout town. It will end with the raising of the flag at the museum and a laying of the wreath ceremony.
