Grand Traverse County Man Pleads Guilty to Attempted Animal Abandonment

A Grand Traverse County man pleaded guilty to attempted animal abandonment.

Animal control officers found dozens of dead animals on his property.

Back in February, animal control went to Joseph Babik’s home in Kingsley where they found dozens of dead chickens and six dead rabbits.

Babik was arrested on felony charges.

Investigators say other animals that were alive didn’t have shelter from the elements or adequate food and water.

Today Babik entered a guilty plea.

He’ll be back in court in two weeks for sentencing.
