My dad is the most amazing dad and grandpa. He has always been my number one fan. He rarely missed a game or performance of mine when growing up, roadtripped with me to Maine a couple of times when I worked at a camp there. Gave me my love of travel. He knows everything there is to know about music in the 50s, 60s, and 70s and has seen most of the performers live. He was an amazing son who spent time driving his father back to FL in his later years and then spent time with him in FL when he was getting chemo and radiation. He has been our regular childcare since our oldest were 1 and when we moved 1 1/2 hours away, he continued to be our manny 2-3 days a week and will drop everything to come out and help us whenever needed. He spent a month in Chicago to be a manny to my sister’s kids so she could do college more easily. He was forced into retirement by his plant closing, but he definitely hasn’t stopped working, he just has a different job now. The icing on the cake is that our youngest even shares his birthday which has required many a birthday tiara for him and a lot of shared princess cakes. He’s amazing and these words don’t even touch it. One more thing, he has become a grandpa for so many others! He had helped so many of my friends out by helping transport their kids or coming out to our house on a non-manny day to provide childcare for others. He is one of the most selfless, family-oriented men I know! His name is Tom Tschirhart and he from Central Lake, MI.
