Cherry Capital Airport Welcomes First Non-Stop Flights from D.C., Charlotte

Services at the Cherry Capital keep taking off- two new non-stop flights landed Saturday.

The first flight landing Saturday was from Washington Dulles, followed by Charlotte, North Carolina,

The airport greeted passengers with a ribbon cutting, and of course cherry pie.

TVC says United’s Washington Dulles will give travelers a one stop connection to South America and Europe.

American Airlines offers the non-stop flight to Charlotte, North Carolina, one of the fastest growing hubs in the U.S.

Airport director Kevin Klein says the seasonal flights are a great way to continue to expand its services.

“It’s a starting point for airlines on a low risk basis to put in a Saturday only flight to add a new market to cultivate that market into years following. This year we announced Sarasota, Charlotte, Washington D.C.., so adding those three cities I think there’s more to come,” Klein said.

The two new non-stop flights will run every Saturday through the end of August.

Coming soon for Cherry Capital, daily service to Denver starts June 20.
