Top Ranking Michigan Health Official on Leave After Opioid Prescription Accusations

A top ranking Michigan health official is now on leave after opioid prescription accusations.

David Neff is the top doctor in the state’s Medicaid program.

At the beginning of the month, regulators accused him of prescribing too many drugs to patients of his private Lansing area practice.

Neff is also accused of failing to test patients for other drug use and not checking the Michigan database to see if they had other prescriptions.
