Police Say Alpena Man Stole from Local Business

An Alpena man faces charges after Michigan State Police say he stole property from a local business, including several cars.

Troopers say they began investigating Matthew Chevalier back in March after a local business owner accused him of stealing cars and checks belonging to her business, along with other property.

Their investigation also revealed that Chevalier wrote at least one of the stolen checks and passed it at another local business.

Before arresting Chevalier, he had to be released from the Bay County Jail where he was being held on unrelated charges.

He’s now faces multiple charges in Alpena County, including stealing from a building, and uttering and publishing.
