MSU Names New President

Michigan State University has named a new president in the wake of the Larry Nassar sexual abuse scandal.

Dr. Samuel Stanley Jr. has now been chosen to lead the university.

Dr. Stanley comes from Stony Brook University in New York where he was the president for almost a decade.

He will take charge of MSU after the board of trustees fired John Engler for how he dealt with survivors of Larry Nassar’s sexual abuse.

Engler was leading the university on an interim basis when Lou Anna Simon resigned in January of 2018.

She resigned during the fallout of the Nassar scandal.
