Cadillac Area Honor Guard Hosts Memorial Day Parade

Cadillac residents filled Mitchell Street for the annual Cadillac Area Honor Guard’s Memorial Day parade.

The Cadillac Police Department, local fire departments, organizations and the Cadillac High School band, all took part.

Veterans were welcomed to walk, as crowds of people cheered in their honor.

Following the parade, a veteran’s memorial service was held at the Cadillac High School Veteran’s Memorial Stadium.

The commander of the Cadillac Area Honor Guard says the parade grows more and more each year.

“To me, it’s just to see the people that come out and hopefully they’re out here to pay respect to the veterans who have fallen, not to have the first day of summer,” said Stephen Birdwell, Commander of Cadillac Area Honor Guard.

The Cadillac VFW Hall also had a barbeque after the memorial service.
