Putting for Patriots in Traverse City Raises Funds for Veterans

A local business partnered with multiple charities this Memorial Day weekend to honor those who have served our country.

Pirate’s Cove Adventure Park in Traverse City held its annual “Putting for Patriots” event on Saturday.

This did not just happen in the Cherry Capital.

It was a national event at 32 other locations across the country as well.

Part of the sales goes to three charities: Hope for the Warriors, Homes for our Troops and The Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors.

Each of these organizations serves wounded veterans and their families.

Tim Olson, the general manager of Pirate’s Cove, said

“Anytime you have a chance to support any veterans group, go ahead and do it. You’re not going to go wrong in the end.”

Putting for Patriots has raised more than $522,000 since it started in 2007.
