Northport’s Cars in the Park Welcomes Community for 21st Year

Almost 2,000 people enjoyed Saturday’s sunshine, while checking out some classic cars in Leelanau County.

It’s the 21st anniversary of Northport’s Cars in the Park!

Car show director Darin Irvine says it’s the longest-running event of its kind in the county.

Irvine says he’s carrying on a tradition which his father first started.

One of the cars on display is more than 100 years old.

There were also some shiny new luxury cars.

The director says many car owners look forward to cars in the park to celebrate the start of summer.

“Because of our weather in this area, the guys with the cars are just chomping at the bit to come out to the first car show,” says Irvine.
