Talks Shut Down Between U.S., Iran

Iran is shutting down President Trump’s offer to hold talks regarding the rising tension in the Persian Gulf.

Iranian officials say they will no longer continue talks until the United States shows respect, saying we need to honor our commitments under the disputed nuclear deal.

This would limit sanctions on Iran in return for them limiting their nuclear capabilities.

The United States has claimed Iran is behind a series of recent coordinated attacks in the region.

However, there has been no public evidence they are involved.

Even with increased U.S. military presence, Acting Secretary of Defense Patrick Shanahan says they’re not giving up on the idea of talks.
