2019 Primaries: New Challenger for Michigan’s 3rd Congressional District

Rep. Justin Amash officially has a challenger in the upcoming August primary elections.

Michigan Rep. Jim Lower announced his candidacy Monday for the 3rd Congressional District in west Michigan.

He currently serves Michigan’s 70th district, which includes Montcalm County and parts of Gratiot County.

Lower says he made the announcement earlier than planned because of Amash’s attack on President Trump.

Amash called for the president’s impeachment on Twitter, accusing him of obstruction of justice.

Lower identifies himself as a “Pro-Trump, pro-life, pro-jobs, pro-second amendment and pro-family values” Republican.
