Lincoln Elementary Student Gets A Letter From President Trump

Whatever your views are about the President, getting a letter from the White House is a pretty big deal; and for this third grader at Lincoln Elementary School it was reply she never though she would get.

Ayla Brown is a third grader at Lincoln Elementary School, Last year, she was assigned to write a letter, to anyone who impacted the community.

Ayla said, “We were going to write a letter to somebody important, like it could be anybody in our family or somebody else.”

But instead of writing a letter to someone in her community, she decided to take a leap of faith and write a letter to the President.

Now, a year later, she got a surprise in the mail.

“My mom was like look at the corner right there and I saw that it was from the white house, and I was like yeah I got a letter back,” said Ayla.

It’s something she will cherish for a long time.

Jessie Pascoe, Ayla’s mother, said, “I just couldn’t believe it, I was like oh my goodness, she got a letter back, and at that moment I was just completely proud of her.”

The letter says:

Dear Ayla thank you for taking the time to write to me. I always enjoy from hearing from young Americans like you. As your President I want you to know that I am listening and will always work hard for you. Together we will determine the course of America and the world for many years to come and we will create a better future for you and your family…”

Now framed, Ayla just has to find a place to put it.

“We’re going to see if we can hang it up in my room without taking anything down,” Ayla said.

To remember her act of courage, in sending a letter to someone she never thought would send a letter back.

Ayla’s mother said, “It does amaze me how one sheet of paper can light up a child’s entire world.”
