Farmers Take the Hit: Dow Drops More Than 600 Points in U.S.-China Trade War

China has now imposed retaliatory tariffs on the U.S., triggering huge losses on Wall Street.

Despite the Dow dropping over 600 points, President Trump says he is happy with how the trade war with China is turning out.

In a tweet, President Trump said “China should not retaliate-will only get worse.”

A fight that some of his own advisors say could be costly.

But the White House says it is a necessary battle for American farmers hammered by Chinese tariffs.

And many U.S. farmers are already feeling the effects of the retaliatory tariffs, with soy bean prices hitting a ten-year low.

Many economic advisors are saying that these tariffs are falling in large part on American businesses and consumers.

President Trump is set to meet with the Chinese president next month at the G20 Summit.
