Beilein has agreed to be the next coach for the Cleveland Cavaliers, leaving U of M basketball after 12 seasons.

During his time there, Beilein has turned Michigan into one of the elite basketball teams in the country.

Making the final four in 2013 and 2018, both ending as national runner-ups in the title game.

Beilein has also coached two Big Ten regular season championship teams and two Big Ten tournament teams.

In his 12 season as Wolverine’s head coach he has amassed 278 wins.

As news broke that he was leaving the team to coach the cavaliers, Beilein tweeted this out to the university and its fans: “Thanks to everyone at the University of Michigan for their incredible support these last 12 seasons.”

He goes on to say “It has been a heck of a ride and I hope you enjoyed our teams and staff as much as I did.”
