Gov. Whitmer Signs Snow Day Forgiveness Bill

Governor Gretchen Whitmer signed a bill Friday to forgive four additional snow days for public schools.

Many Northern Michigan districts missed more than 20 school days due to a high amount of snowfall this winter.

This legislation forgives the days missed from January 29 to February 1.

Michigan law already forgives districts from making up six days that have been cancelled for emergencies, and they can get a waiver for three more.

In total, schools could now have 13 snow days without having to makeup class during the summer.
