Chelsea Manning Released From Prison After 62 Days

The former Army intelligence analyst Chelsea Manning is out of jail Friday morning.

Manning spent 62 days behind bars in a Virginia jail.

This is because she refused to testify before a federal grand jury.

Her lawyer says she was asked to testify about her disclosures to Wikileaks, a website which publishes leaks and classified media.

Manning says she refused to testify because she is protesting the grand jury system, which has no judges or defense attorneys.

She previously served seven years for releasing thousands of classified government documents to Wikileaks.

She has now been subpoenaed for a second time and she is required to appear in court next Thursday.

If she refuses to testify, she could again be found in contempt.
