Woman Accused Cheating Isabella County Business Out of $3.5 Million

Police say the owner of a trucking company cheated another business out of more than $3.5 million.

Police say Lorie Stuer is a co-owner of Stoney Creek Trucking in Lapeer County.

They worked with Bandit Industries in Isabella County transporting equipment.

Over the course of years, police say Stuer used fake information on invoices and fraudulently billed Bandit Industries for nearly $3.7 million in shipping costs.

The sheriff’s office says the scheme dates back to 2011.

Stuer now faces charges for fraud and other crimes.
