Hometown Tourist: Otis Pottery

In this week’s Hometown Tourist David Lyden and Erin Malone take us to meet a family in East Jordan that has operated a pottery gallery and studio for over 30 years.

After living in Berkeley, Germany, and moving to East Jordan on a whim, it’s a charming family place with beautiful work made in that same vein.

It all started with a pottery periodical advertising the sale of a studio that husband and wife artist duo David and June received while living in Germany.

They took the plunge and moved their family here. Now it is filled with beautiful, functional and ornamental pieces for a variety of use.

Now their son, Andrew, has grown into the operation and creates large scale pottery and fountains.

Part of the experience at Otis Pottery is meeting their dog Amigo. The friendly pup greets everyone who enters.

Along with the family spirit, everything at Otis Pottery is handmade with a degree of love.
