Student Killed in University of North Carolina Charlotte Deemed Hero

More details about the deadly shooting at the University of North Carolina Charlotte have emerged.

The gunman killed two students and four were injured.

Riley Howell a 21-year old student died in the shooting, but city police chief Kurr Putney says Howell died while heroically attacking the gunman.

Chief Putney says because of what he did many other students were able to escape to safety.

Police say the gunman Trystan Terrell burst into a classroom randomly shooting students.

He is now charged with two counts of murder and attempted murder.

Terrell made a full confession to police saying he had been planning some sort of shooting for months.

Police say he had also been researching the sandy hook shooting.

They also say the hand gun was bought legally, but motive is still unclear.
