Grinding Lake Superior Rocks into Art
Originally from Casper, Wyoming, Kevin got his start from being around his mom and her friends.
“My mother was into ceramics and hung around a bunch of artists, so as a kid I had free reign running around, saw how they worked and how they lived and I just loved it,” he says.
Now one of the primary ingredients in his art are stones from Lake Superior.
He says natures’ beauty inspires him.
“Art is very personal so I’m kind of selfish in the fact that I build these for me,” Kevin says. “I spend so many hours grinding…you get done with it and you’re like I did that.”
Kevin Kaye’s art can be found at the Michigan Artists Gallery.
