Families Displaced After Kalkaska Apartment Complex Fire

A Northern Michigan community is hurting after a fire broke out in Kalkaska County.

Multiple emergency services say they went to the Kalkaska Woods Apartments complex early Saturday morning.

Coldsprings Excelsior Fire and Rescue shared on social media that all the residents made it out of the building safely.

The executive director of the American Red Cross of Northern Michigan, Cathy Anthofer-Fialon, said their disaster action team was at the complex until 6:30 a.m.

The Kalkaska Baby Pantry says they will be open tomorrow afternoon from 12:30-1:30 pm. to help with immediate needs.
