Traverse City’s Norte Promotes Bike Lane Safety

Traverse City’s Norte is advocating for biker safety and sharing the road.

The group put out red solo cups on Eighth Street to create separated bike lanes on the road – and remind drivers be conscientious of bikers.

This, all in memory of a D.C. area bike advocate who recently died in traffic.

Norte says we all need to be more mindful of safe travel.

“No matter how we get around, driving, the bus, walking, biking we deserve to be safe and i think we can always do better,” said Ty Schmidt, Norte’s founder.

May is national biking month.
